"After trying for three years for n role in mainstream Malayalam or Tamil movies, I did n movie with Shakeela in 2002. I acted in 20 more such movies d same year, but n decent role never came my way," says 27-year-old Althaf, sipping tea in Campus Hotel, n tiny restaurant opposite AVM studios. Though 'mainstream' dreams for these youngsters never materialised, mallu masala actors at least earned enough to support themselves till last year. Then, Shakeela went bust.
